Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Books for Animal Lovers

March 10, 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish in which they select a topic every week, and the rest of us get to make Top Ten lists based on that topic. This week’s topic:  Top Ten Books for Readers Who Like ________. I debated this one for awhile and then inspiration struck…..books for animal lovers (and I know there are a ton of you out there!). Here are my recommendations for animal love (click on the link for the Goodreads summary):

Unique books that make dogs seem more human:

The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein

The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst

To understand the deep love of a pet:

A Lion Called Christian by Anthony Bourke and John Rendall

Marley and Me by John Grogan

Not Just About Dogs:

Hoot by Carl Hiaasen

Ape House by Sara Gruen

Dogs That Help Heal:

Wonder by R.J. Palacio

Blind by Rachel DeWoskin

Bonding with a Dog During Life Transitions:

Still Life with Bread Crumbs by Anna Quindlen

The Anonymous Blog of Mrs. Jones by Ellen Harger
