Top Ten Tuesday: My Favorite Authors of All Time
April 21, 2015
Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish in which they select a topic every week, and the rest of us get to make Top Ten lists based on that topic. This week’s topic: Top Ten ALL TIME Favorite Authors. Wow! There are so many amazing authors out there, and this was a little tricky to do! You can click on the author’s name to be taken to their personal website. I’m really looking forward to checking out other blogger’s posts on this one!
I was first introduced to Renee’s writing when I went to a historical fiction panel at my local library. She was such a delightful and engaging person, and I loved how passionate she was about her writing. I have enjoyed both Dollface and What the Lady Wants, and I cannot wait until her next book comes out!
I fell in love with Stein’s writing when I read The Art of Racing in the Rain for my book club. I quickly devoured the rest of his books. I love how he can take a somewhat typical situation and put a very unique spin on it. I can’t believe I haven’t read his newest book A Sudden Light yet!
Oh how I enjoyed The Secret Life of Bees (I currently have the movie on my DVR and hope to watch it soon). I love Monk’s characters and her style of writing. I’m looking forward to reading The Invention of Wings!
I was so moved by Wild, and I have loved Strayed’s other books as well. She is so down-to-earth and real, and she is always her truest self. I love her style of writing!
I have always enjoyed the legal thrillers that Grisham writes, but I also loved his nonfiction book The Innocent Man. The movies are always a good reflection of his books as well!
OK, I’ve only read one book by Niven, but it is one of my favorite books of all time. I sooooooooo loved All the Bright Places, and I’m hoping to read more of her books soon.
I would imagine Kingsolver will make many Top Ten lists this week! She has written so many awesome books that it’s hard to pick a favorite! I would probably have to pick either The Bean Trees or The Posionwood Bible as my Kingsolver favorite.
I just have to give honorable mentions to the following authors that I also love (and I’m still debating if I should exchange any with the ones above ): Suzanne Collins, Chris Bohjalian, Suanne Laqueur, Maeve Binchy, and J.K. Rowling.
Who is your favorite author?
