Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Beach Reads For Summer
May 26, 2015
Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish in which they select a topic every week, and the rest of us get to make Top Ten lists based on that topic. This week’s topic: Ten Books I Plan To Have In My Beach Bag This Summer or Ten Books I Think Make Great Beach Reads. To me beach reads equal chick lit, and I’m proud to say it’s a genre I do enjoy. Here are some light, easy reading books that I’d like to check out this summer:
I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read It Already:
Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand – I’ve never read Hilderbrand before, but she is supposed to be the queen of the summer beach read. I’m hoping this is the summer I finally check her out!
Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella – I know, I know…..I can’t believe I haven’t read it either. It’s almost never available at the library!
Summer Sisters by Judy Blume – I was such a ginormous Judy Blume fan growing up, and I still haven’t read this adult novel by her. She even has another new one coming out this summer.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen – This book seems to have a cult following, and I really want to check this classic out and see what the hype is all about.
Young Adult Selections:
Open Road Summer by Emery Lord – I’ve heard great things about this book, and I have already downloaded it to my Kindle when it was on sale.
Let’s Get Lost by Adi Alsaid – I so enjoyed meeting Alsaid at a YA Literature Conference, and this has been high on my TBR for awhile.
Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen – Dessen is another author that I can’t believe I haven’t read yet. This book screams summer, and I’m hoping to check it out.
Authors I Enjoy:
The Next Best Thing by Jennifer Weiner – I have always enjoyed Weiner’s novels, and I’d like to check out another one this summer. The pool on the cover of this one looks appealing!
Summer Island by Kristin Hannah – I haven’t read a ton of Hannah’s work, but I have enjoyed what I’ve read. I have a feeling I might grow weary of her style after awhile though.
One Plus One by Jojo Moyes – I so loved Me Before You and I can’t wait to check out more of the work of Moyes.
What would you recommend for this summer?
