Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Hyped Books I’ve Never Read
July 7, 2015
Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish in which they select a topic every week, and the rest of us get to make Top Ten lists based on that topic. This week’s topic: Top Ten Hyped Books I’ve Never Read. Oh my goodness! This list could probably number into the hundreds if I really thought about it. There are so many books that I feel I need to get to because of other’s rave reviews, and I just can’t keep up with all of the great books out there (let alone the ones that people rave about that I have no intention of reading). Here are the 10 that came to mind first. Click on the book title to be taken to a Goodreads summary:
Happiness for Beginners by Katherine Center – I actually have this one checked out from the library, and I’m hoping to get to it as soon as I read my book club book. Hiking, romance, self discovery – sounds like a perfect summer read!
The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan – What gets me excited about this book is the wide variety of bloggers that have raved about it (that is a very rare thing indeed)! I also have a fascination with the royal family, and there are apparently some similarities with Kate and Wills.
Saint Mazie by Jami Attenberg – I love books set during the Prohibition era, and this one is getting great reviews!
All the Rage by Courtney Summers – I’ve heard this is a must read for everyone! I have yet to read a bad review on this one, which deals with the fallout from a rape.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis – I have stated that I will get to this series this year. I really need to get on it!
Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl – A reportedly amazing book about overcoming horrific events and finding happiness within yourself from a man who survived the Holocaust.
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan – Actually the next book in this series China Rich Girlfriend was recently released, and it’s getting rave reviews. I feel like I need to start at the beginning of the series though.
Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella – I feel like everyone in the world has read this one except me. I’m hoping to pick up the audio version sometime soon.
The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd – I am still shocked that I haven’t read this yet. I love Sue Monk Kidd, and everyone says this book is awesome.
Newjack by Ted Conover – This is the type of memoir that is right up my alley. A reporter who gets a job as a prison guard at Sing Sing. Who isn’t intrigued?
What hyped books do you need to read?
