Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Debut Authors I Want More From

November 3, 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish in which they select a topic every week, and the rest of us get to make Top Ten lists based on that topic. This week’s topic: Top Ten Debut Authors Who Have Me Looking Forward To Their Sophomore Novel. I’ve read several books this year by debut authors that I have highly enjoyed, and it was fun to go back and revisit some of those great reads! Here’s who I’m looking forward to seeing more of (click on the author’s name to be taken to their website):

Debut Authors

Adam Silvera – I enjoyed More Happy Than Not, and I adored Adam when I had the opportunity to meet him in person. He gave us a sneak peek into what his new book is about, and I can’t wait!

Alexandra SirowyThe Creeping was the perfect Halloween read, and I also adored Sirowy when I had the opportunity to meet her. Her next book is not expected until August of next year…..that’s so far away!

Katherine Center – I enjoyed Happiness for Beginners, and I look forward to trying another light read by Center (ok….so as I was in the middle of this post, I realized that this is not Center’s debut – let’s just pretend that it is at this point with the graphic made and everything :) ).

Nicola Yoon – I finished Everything, Everything just in time to meet Yoon at the Anderson’s YA Lit Conference. Despite the need to suspend belief on occasion, I really enjoyedDebut authors2 the book, and I anticipate great things from Yoon in the future. I have yet to post my review, but hopefully it is coming soon :).

Paula Hawkins – Who didn’t love the newest, hottest suspense novel of the year The Girl on the Train. I always love a good nail biter, and Hawkins definitely delivered on that front!

Jessica Null Vealitzek – Although The Rooms are Filled wasn’t my favorite read of the year, there were definite strengths. Vealitzek is a local author, and I always love to support a local author so I’ll be giving her next book a shot!

As I was making this list, I was surprised how many of the authors I kept coming up with were YA authors. I also have a ton of debut novels sitting at home ready to read following the Anderson’s conference. I hope to get to so many more of these debut authors soon!

What debut authors are you looking forward to reading again? I know I’m missing lots from my list!
